Membership Benefits

Quarterly Meetings - Meetings of the general membership are held quarterly at various locations throughout the state.  Quarterly meetings are strategically located to allow easy access and to vary the traveling distance for members.

Quarterly Training - Continuing education training sessions are provided to the membership at quarterly meetings.  Education training sessions are one or two days in length.  Fees for training sessions are covered by the annual membership dues.

  Annual Conference - BOAL's annual state conference is held to advise the membership of the latest changes in the building codes. Continuing education training sessions are presented at the annual state conference. The annual state conference features a trade show designed to keep the membership abreast of new developments in construction. Trade show booths include major manufacturers, code organizations, and suppliers.    

    Code Assistance - Our large membership of active and associate members gives each member quick access to code question resolution. Our membership includes many of the most knowledgeable building officials in the industry.

    Nationwide Link - All members of BOAL have a direct link with the International Codes Council (ICC).

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

   Active Members:
Any building official, assistant building official, field inspector, or other municipal, state, or parish employee actively engaged in the administration and enforcement of building regulations, may, upon approval of the Board of Directors, become an active member of the association. Every jurisdiction having one or more active
memberships is limited to only one (1) vote.

Active Members Dues are: $50.00 per year
 

   Associate Members:
Any organization, association, institution, corporation, partnership, architect, engineer, builder, contractor, planner, manufacturer of or dealer in building materials or equipment, or any other individual representing an association or corporation having a legitimate interest in the purposes and objectives of the BUILDING OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION OF LOUISIANA shall be eligible to become an associate member. Associative members are nonvoting.

Associate Members Dues: $40.00 per year 

   Student Members:
Any student enrolled in a Louisiana accredited school and taking a construction-related curriculum.

Student Members Dues: $20.00 per year  

   Retired Members:
Any former active member who is retired. The retired member shall not hold any office or have a general membership vote. Any retired member can serve on any advisory committee.

Retired Members Dues: None
