Hattiesburg, Miss. - LSUS freshman Andrew Brouillette was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week as announced today by the league office.
Brouillette had an outstanding week at the plate for the No. 21 Pilots, including going 9-for-9 in Saturday's doubleheader versus the No. 6 ranked Mobile Rams. Brouillette collected 14 hits on the week, including two doubles and seven RBIs, as the Pilots wrapped up sole possession of second place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference standings with the series win over No. 6 Mobile. Brouillette reached base safely in 13 of 15 plate appearances versus Mobile.
Brouillette batted over .500 during the month of April and is currently hitting .422 for the season, while leading the Pilots in on-base percentage (.545).
This is the second Player of the Week honor for Brouillette this season.
