The LSUS Pilots kicked off the 7th annual Pilot World Series yesterday under cloudy, windy conditions at Pilot field. The Blue team took game one of the best of five series with a convincing 9-4 win over the Gold Team. Tyler Lewis threw five strong innings, surrendering two runs on four hits, while striking out two and walking three for Pilot Blue. Blake Pinkston and Josh Wheat finished the game throwing an inning each.
Pilot Blue scored 5 runs in the first inning on one hit, two walks, and three Gold team errors. Bryan Cooksey collected two hits for the Blue Team while Josh Todd had two hits for the Gold Team. Blue Team lead-off hitter, Dustin Bissonette, collected four walks and scored two runs.
Game 2 will take place today, October 25, at 3pm with Games 3 and 4 scheduled Friday at 2:45pm and Saturday at 11:00am. Game 5 will be played Monday, October 31 at 2:45pm.
