Despite dropping game one of Saturday’s double-header 12-2, the Pilots managed to take the three game series from GCAC rival William Carey Crusaders with a 6-5 win in game three. Pilot Freshman Kevin Jewell pitched a complete game 6 hitter to collect his 7th win of the year which leads the LSUS pitching staff in wins this season.
Thomas McMannis was 2-4 with a two run homerun and 3 RBI in game two to lead the Pilots offense in the 6-5 victory. The Pilots improved their record to 30-18 on the season and are now 4 games back of the Crusaders at 15-9 in GCAC action.
LSUS will be back in action Tuesday afternoon versus Texas Weslyn University with a double header beginning at 4:00pm.
