Shreveport, La. - LSUS sophomore Andrew Brouillette has been selected as the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week, becoming the first baseball player in Pilot history to receive the award. 

Brouillette, a 5-9 catcher from Benton, set several conference and school records for the No. 20 Pilots during a 5-0 week. In the 7-5 extra-inning win over Houston-Victoria, Andrew smacked a walk-off grand slam placing him with the most RBI in a single season in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) history. On Saturday, he had a monster day hitting three home runs and going 4-for-4 with 10 RBI in the 13-2 win over Tougaloo (Miss.). In the process, he set the school’s season record for homers (18) and total bases (163).

He also now stands as the career LSUS leader in roundtrippers (26) and RBI (144) in just two years of playing as a Pilot. In national statistics, Andrew is first in RBI (91), hits (81) and total bases, and second in slugging percentage (1.001) and batting average (.500).

For the week, he hit 9-for-20 (.450) with nine runs scored, six home runs and 16 RBI. He also drew four walks and was 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts. He held a 1.350 slugging percentage.

Already the school's record holder in five offensive categories, Andrew is also on pace to break the LSUS single season record for batting average, hits, doubles, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage this season.

In addition to his National Player of the Week honor, he was also named the GCAC's Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
