Shreveport, La. – Sophomore Andrew Brouillette homered, drove in three runs and scored four times as the No. 15 LSUS Pilots cruised to a 16-4 victory over Louisiana College on Wednesday night at Pilot Field.
The Pilots scored in all but two innings, including a five-run sixth and a four-run eighth to defeat the visitors from Alexandria and move to 12-2 on the season.
Five players recorded multiple hits for the Pilots on the evening, while seven of the nine hitters in the Pilots’ lineup drove in at least one run in the contest.
Brandon Bravata, Jeffrey Garidel and Kyle Pearson each had three hits to lead the Pilots in the win. The freshman Pearson had his best night at the Plate in his brief Pilot career so far, falling just a homerun short of the cycle.
Senior Brent Lavallee joined Brouillette with a team-high three RBIs on the night.
Freshman Mason Free (1-0) earned the first win of his collegiate career, working three strong innings of relief out of the bullpen. Free allowed just one run on three hits, while striking out three Wildcats.
Shreveport-Bossier native Ryan Juneau, a former Parkway High School standout, led the Wildcats with two hits and two RBIs in the loss.
LSUS (12-2, 8-1) will face Tougaloo College on Friday night in the first game of a three-game conference series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 P.M. at Pilot Field.
