The college is pleased to welcome Felice Williams, Assistant Professor of Management in the Department of Management and Marketing.
 
Two CBA Faculty Members Retire 8/10/2009
Ms. Janice Goode, Instructor of Information Systems, retired in May after 11 years as a faculty member. Dr. Charlotte Jones retired in August after 11 years as Dean and 25 years at LSUS.
 
Wolfgang Hinck Appointed Associate Dean 8/10/2009
Dr. Wolfgang Hinck, Associate Professor of Marketing, has been appointed Associate Dean.
 
Jo McGee Appointed Department Chair 8/10/2009
Dr. Jo McGee, Associate Professor of Accounting, has been named Chair of the Accounting and Business Law Department. She replaces Dr. Bruce Wampler, who left LSUS.

Bell South Corporation Professor Binshan Lin was named to the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Computer Information Systems. The Journal of Computer Information Systems (JCIS, ISSN 0887-4417) is the official publication of the International Association for Computer Information Systems (IACIS www.iacis.org) published on a quarterly basis.
 
Lorraine Krajewski to serve on Art Institute of Chicago committee  1/27/2009
The Art Institute of Chicago has invited Dr. Lorraine Krajewski to serve on a newly formed Standing Committee on Conservation and Conservation Science. The charge of this 12-person committee is to expand awareness of conservation, lend support to conservation activities, and advise on ways to raise funds for the general and specific purposes of the Department of Conservation.

The LSUS Rotaract Club was recognized as "Outstanding Young Adults in Philanthropy" at the National Philanthropy Day Recognition and Luncheon, sponsored by the Association of fundraising Professionals, North LA Chapter.
 
Amy Wren and Carl Smolinski Have Paper Accepted  11/13/2008
Ms. Amy Wren and Dr. Carl Smolinski has a paper, ”Does the AACSB Advance Accounting Education?,” accepted for presentation at the Southwest Region meeting of the American Accounting Association. Ms. Wren is Associate Professor of Business Law and Dr. Smolinski is Associate Professor of Accounting.
 
Lorraine Krajewski Awarded Simon Endowed Professorship for Excellence in Teaching  11/10/2008
The recipient of the professorship is selected for two academic years, beginning with the 2008-09 year. The selection is made a University committee consisting of one faculty member from each LSUS college and is one of only two professorships open to the entire University faculty.
 
Dr. Jo Ann McGee has Article Accepted for Publication  11/5/2008
Dr. McGee just had an article entitled “Beware of Expense Reimbursement Schemes!” accepted for publication in The Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance. Dr. McGee is Associate Professor of Accounting.
 
Rotaract Club Will Receive Philanthropy Award for Youth Ages 18-22  11/3/2008
This award was for work done, with other organizations at the Black Tie... Or Not... Benefit Ball. A special thanks goes to Kevin Dunki and Patrick Day for their work on this project!
 
Sanjay Menon Awarded Super Professorship  10/23/2008
Dr. Menon, Associate Professor of Management, was awarded a Super Professorship in India Studies. The professorship status was upgraded to "Super" with increased funding by the community and matching funds from the Board of Regents.
 
Wolfgang Hinck Awarded Professorship  10/23/2008
Dr. Hinck, Associate Professor of Marketing, was awarded the Blue Cross Blue Shield Professorship in Business in a joint ceremony with LSUHSC recipients on October 20.
 
Binshan Lin has Two Articles Accepted for Publication  10/23/2008
Dr. Lin and his co-authors, J. Wei and L. van der Ende, have an article, “Customer-Focused E-Business Model for the Oil Industry,” accepted for publication in the Journal of Computer Information Systems. Dr. Lin also as an article with C. Lin, C.M. Lin and M.C. Yang, "A Decision Support System for Improving Doctors’ Prescribing Behavior," to be published in Expert Systems with Applications.

Dr. Hinck's article, “Mexican Consumer Animosity Toward U.S. Products,” has been accepted for publication in the World Journal of Business Management. His manuscript “The Effect of Anticipatory Emotions on Student Performance in International Marketing Simulations” has also been accepted for publication in the Journal of Management and World Business Research.
 
Sanjay Menon has Article Published.  12/4/2007
Dr. Menon's article, "Psychological Empowerment in the South African Military: the Generalisability of Menon’s Scale," is published in the South African Journal of Industrial Psychology. His co-authors are E. Kotze and B. Vos.
 
Doug Bible Has Paper Accepted for Presentation  12/3/2007
Dr. Bible's paper has been accepted for presentation at the American Real Estate Society April 2008 meeting. The paper is titled “Adjustable Rate Mortgages and the Mortgage Mess, A study of Recent Adjustable Rate Mortgages in Louisiana.”

Dr. Jason Lee, Assistant Professor of Accounting, earned the Award of Distinguished Performance from the Institute of Certified Management Accountant (ICMA) for his performance in the CMA/CFM exams. He achieved one of the top total scores in the world in the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Financial Manager (CFM) exams.

CBA Awarded $156,000 in BORSF Grants  4/13/2005
The CBA has been awarded three Board of Regents Support Fund (BORSF) grants totaling over $156,000. A grant for $94,000 will support a mobile wireless classroom, a $54,000 grant will upgrade two computer labs, and an $8,000 grant will support online internships.
