About the Program
The LSUS Master of Health Administration (MHA) program prepares students for professional middle and upper management positions within healthcare institutions. Such institutions include hospitals and medical centers, medical group practices, pharmaceutical fi rms, medical technology corporations, health insurance companies, and long term care centers.
The MHA program consists of a series of 10 graduate courses covering a broad range of administrative topics. Coursework may be pursued on either a full-time or part-time basis, with completion of the MHA degree being possible within one calendar year. Qualifi ed students may enroll in the MHA program during any semester—spring, summer, or fall— and productively pursue coursework, which is offered exclusively during the evenings from 6-9 p.m.
The MHA program is accredited by AACSB International—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—the leading accreditation agency for business schools in the United States.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission into the MHA program, applicants must:
- Complete and submit the LSUS Graduate Application for Admission (available online at www.lsus.edu), forwarding it to the Offi ce of Admissions and Records;
- Submit copies of all transcripts of prior undergraduate and graduate coursework to the Offi ce of Admissions and Records;
- Submit a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score, taken within eight years of application, to the MHA Program Director (visit www.gmac.com for GMAT information); and
- Exhibit promise for success in graduate work through achievement of a composite score of 1000 or higher based on the following formula: Overall undergraduate GPA x 200 + GMAT score - Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0. Minimum GMAT score: 450.

*Three foundation courses or their equivalents are required prior to enrollment in graduate coursework: ACCT 285 Accounting Concepts, ECON 285 Foundations of Economics, and MADM 210 Business Communication.
Program Headquarters
The LSUS MHA Program is physically located at the LSUS Health Administration Center at 1666 East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suite 200, in Shreveport, Louisiana, less than one mile from the main campus of LSUS at the intersection of Youree Drive and Bert Kouns. The Center is the result of a kind donation of offi ce space, built to the specifi cations of the MHA Program, provided by Willis-Knighton Health System and its President and Chief Executive Offi cer, Mr. James K. Elrod.
