Wayne Hogue is Director of the LSUS LEAD (Leadership Education And Development) Program and an instructor of business. He received a BS from LA Tech, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi, and an MBA from LSUS.
Wayne has been voted one of the Top 20 Professors at LSUS by the student body for the last five years, every year since 2005. He is the faculty advisor to the LSUS Rotaract club and was the originator of the club’s Black Tie… Or Not… Benefit Ball supporting the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission. He is also the originator and architect of the LA Character & Leadership Development Symposium (http://LCLDS.com).
Wayne’s primary areas of interest include Leadership, Student Success, Small Business, and Entrepreneurship. He teaches Introduction to Leadership I and II, Leadership Skills Development I and II, Freshman Seminar for Business Students, Introduction to Business, and Small Business Management courses to undergraduate students in the School of Business, as well as small business classes, seminars and workshops for the LSUS Small Business Development Center.
Away from LSUS, Wayne is President of an innovation company (www.bayoustyle.com) which he founded and uses extensively as a real world example in his classes. He developed and maintains the company website and he creates and develops the products the company sells. Wayne was awarded his first patent in early 2008 (USPTO patent # 7,341,506), his second in early 2009 (USPTO patent # #7,485,032) and has another pending along with several other products in various stages of development. In his spare time, Wayne is an accomplished welder and woodworker, and also serves as a Notary Public. He is author of one book, Play the Game!, and is in the process of writing another; 25 Elements of Leaders of Character.
