Dr. John Vassar is Professor of Management in the College of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of North Texas in 1981 and before that he received a M. S. Degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University. He has been employed at LSUS since 1980. His teaching interests are in Human Resources Management, Strategic Management, and Health Care Administration. He is currently a life time member designation as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He has served the CBA in the following roles: Chairman of the Management and Marketing Department, MBA Director and Director of the Small Business Development Center. His research interests include current issues in health care administration, strategic management and human resources management. He and his wife, Mary Lynn are parents of three boys: John, David, and Michael as well as grandparents of two girls and one boy.
