| Dr. Harvey W. Rubin graduated from Georgia State University with a B.B.A. degree in 1965. Dr. Rubin continued his graduate studies at Georgia State University, completing his M.A.S in 1967, and his Ph.D. in 1970. His professional designations include the CLU, and the CPCU. Dr. Rubin joined the faculty at Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1983. Currently, Dr. Rubin is a Professor of Finance and Holder of the Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company Professorship.
Dr. Rubin's research interests primarily lie in the area of reinsurance and investments. Dr. Rubin is author of Dictionary of Insurance Terms(Barron’s, Fourth Edition, 2000), and contributing author of Dictionary of Business Terms (Barron’s, Third Edition, 2000). His recent presentations include: "A Study of Graduate Student's Views Concerning the Purchase of Life Insurance," Western Risk and Insurance Association Annual Meeting, 2001; "An Innovative Approach to the Teaching of Financial Planning to Educators and Students: Secondary Level," American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences 8th annual Meeting, 2001;"The Teaching of Personal Financial Planning: Implementing Interactive Television and the Public Broadcasting System," Southwestern Federation of Administrative Disciplines, 2001; and "Development, Implementation and Distribution of personal Financial Education to Target Constituencies," Academy of Financial Services, 2001. |
