Board
of Visitors
Fifteen
elected members from the Northwest Louisiana business community
and two invited members who are recent business graduates serve as the college's Board of Visitors (BOV).
The Board works closely with the dean and department chairs. The college has found working with the
BOV to be very rewarding, and the benefits from the partnership
between the College and the Board are becoming increasingly
apparent. Board members participate in focus groups in
their areas of expertise, serve as Executive Mentors and
Business Mentors in Management programs, act as Executives-in-Residence
by teaching the Introduction to Business Course, serve
as visiting lecturers in different classes, and participate
in interviewing candidates for faculty positions. The
Board meets four times each year; one meeting is hosted
by a board member annually.
Student
Advisory Council
The Student Advisory Council (SAC)
is composed of a group of students from each undergraduate
major and from the MBA program. Members are nominated
by faculty and administrators in the College of Business.
The Council meets monthly when classes are in session
with the Dean and Academic Counselor to discuss current
issues in the college.
The group helps provide insight into the strengths and weaknesses of our current programs, and bring new information into the college on what employers are seeking of their future employees. The SAC participates actively in schedule building each semester and is in charge of the CBA Suggestion Box, posted outside the Dean’s Office. All business students are encouraged to discuss concerns and suggestions for improvement at the college or university level with members of the SAC.
