The College of Business Administration
provides quality educational, research, and service programs
to advance the economic, social, and technological well-being
of the surrounding region and the success of our students,
faculty, business community, and other stakeholders.
Objectives
To accomplish its
mission, the CBA has adopted the following objectives,
which are consistent with the university's urban, regional
focus. Effective teaching is the primary focus, followed
by research and service, in that order. Research and service
are designed to complement teaching and to create a synergy
among all three activities. This synergy enhances the
knowledge and competence of our faculty, our relevance
to the business community, and the learning process of
our students. Specific objectives are summarized below:
To
provide a comprehensive, quality education for students
in order to
Prepare graduates to enter, advance, and/or
change careers in business or public
service to the best of their
abilities
Prepare those graduates who seek advanced
education to enter graduate school at
LSUS and elsewhere
Provide the opportunity for non-business
majors to learn and understand basic
principles of business and the
economic system
To
encourage and promote intellectual contributions within
the college in order to
Enable faculty to stay current and be effective
in their classroom teaching
Promote greater collegial, scholarly interaction
among the faculty
Further the advancement and dissemination
of knowledge in business administration,
especially that which will benefit
the region.
To
serve the university and the region in order to
Help further the goals, objectives and governance
of the university
Foster continuing relationships with the
business, civic, and governmental communities
to further the interaction opportunities
for our students, faculty, and outreach divisions
