Women's Soccer Season Ends With 3-0 Loss in GCAC Tournament Semifinals

Hattiesburg, Miss. - No. 17 William Carey Lady Crusaders dominated play on both ends of the field and cruised past the Lady Pilots of LSUS 3-0 in semi-final play of the 2008 GCAC Tournament. The Lady Crusaders jumped all over the Lady Pilots in the first half taking 14 shots while limiting the visitors to only two. WCU's Aimi Beresford opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Sophomore Natalia Nino got in on the action in the 18th minute, as the Lady Crusaders took a 2-0 lead into the half. Sagan Elliot capped the scoring for the Lady Crusaders with a goal in the 71st minute, helping the Lady Crusaders advance to the GCAC Championship game on Friday night versus Belhaven. For the game Carey outshot LSUS 23 to 7. Keeper Jordan Morrison recorded three saves in working the shutour With the loss, the Lady Pilots finished the season with an 8-8-1 overall record.
