Women's Soccer Falls at Mobile

October 16, 2008

MOBILE, Ala. - After shutting out Mobile at home last week, the Lady Rams returned the favor as they defeated the Lady Pilots 2-0 on Thursday night.

Mobile's Emma Murphy opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, spinning her shot just inside the near post and off the LSUS goalkeeper's finger tips for the 1-0 lead.

Terri McCreadie capped off the game's scoring 18 minutes later with a nice individual effort goal. McCreadie stole the ball from a Lady Pilot and then raced down field to beat the goalkeeper 1-on-1.

The Lady Rams out shot the Lady Pilots 9-2 in that opening half and held a 5-0 edge in shots on goal, while controlling the ball for the majority of the half and clamping down on defense the few times the Lady Pilots were able to advance the ball down the field.

Entering the game, Mobile had scored only one goal over the last 200 minutes of conference action, before finding the back of the net in the first half.

LSUS (7-4, 2-2) will stay in Mobile for the weekend, as they take on Spring Hill College on Saturday afternoon.
