Twenty-Nine Student-Athletes Make the Grade

Shreveport, La. – Twenty-nine LSUS student-athletes were named to the 2008-09 GCAC Honor Roll, as announced earlier this week by Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Terry Harris.

Fourteen members of the baseball team, eight from the women’s soccer team, five from the women’s basketball team and two men’s basketball players were rewarded for their performance in the classroom this past school year.

The LSUS student-athletes who made the list are:

Baseball: Craig Barnes*, Andrew Blubaugh*, David Bradley*, Brandon Bravata*, Andrew Brouillette*, Mason Free, Jeffrey Garidel*, Bubba Jordan, JV Laffitte, James Landry, Scott Petroski, Gino Spratley, Josh Todd* and Quinton Shamsabady*

Women’s Soccer:  Holly Jaynes, Alicia Marshall, Ty Moreno*, Krystel Reilly*, Kristen Schaefer*, Calandre Singh*, Caitlin Smith and Dorothy Vaughan

Women’s Basketball: Jamien Arvie*, Callie Davis, LaTisha Flowers*, Valerie Huizar and Janai Sells*

Men’s Basketball: John Anthony Anglin and Jared Stevenson*

To qualify, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours each semester and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

* Denotes repeat selection to the Honor Roll
