Twenty-Four Student-Athletes Named to 2007-08 GCAC Honor Roll

Shreveport, La. - LSUS had twenty-four student athletes qualify for the 2007-08 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Honor Roll, as announced today by Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Terry Harris.
Eleven members from the baseball team, four from the women’s basketball team, one from the men’s basketball team and eight from the women’s soccer team were honored based on their success in the classroom.
The LSUS student athletes who qualified are as follows:
BASEBALL: Craig Barnes, Andrew Blubaugh, David Bradley, Brandon Bravata, Andrew Brouillette, Jeffrey Garidel, Blake Pinkston, Brent Porche, Quinton Shamsabady, Chris Steadman and Josh Todd
MEN’S BASKETBALL: Jared Stevenson
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Jamien Arvie, LaTisha Flowers, Edie Leonards and Janai Sells
WOMEN’S SOCCER: Jessica Aguirre, Rachel Alexander, Brenna Bussart, Ty Moreno, Krystel Reilly, Kristen Schaefer, Calandre Singh and Julia Vaughan
This is the third year Quinton Shamsabady, Brenna Bussart and Ty Moreno have been named to the GCAC Honor Roll and the second year for Chris Steadman, Josh Todd, Janai Sells, Rachel Alexander, Krystel Reilly, Kristen Schaefer, Calndre Singh and Julia Vaughan. Vaughan, the 2008 A.O. Duer Award winner, highlights the list of athletes with a cumulative 4.0 GPA for her LSUS career.
To qualify a student must be at least a sophomore, be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours each semester and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
