The Stage is set for the Cross-town Classic

SHREVEPORT, La. - Friday's matchup, now being called the Cross-town Classic between LSU Shreveport and Centenary marks the second time since LSUS reinstated their men's and women's basketball program the two schools have played a double-header. The women's game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the men will follow at 7:30 p.m.

The first time they played was during the 2007 - 2008 season and the games were played in the Gold Dome located on the campus of Centenary College. 

The Pilots came out victorious in the first match-up defeating the Gents 80 - 72.  The win marked the third NCAA Division I opponent the Pilots knocked off that season.  They also picked up victories against Northwestern State University (79-73) and McNeese State University (86-80).

The Lady Pilots came up a little short in the first game that season.  The Centenary Ladies picked up the victory 72-64.  The Lady Pilots are very excited about the opportunity of redemption.  The Lady Pilots reached their highest ranking ever this past week jumping up to the 17th spot of the NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll.  They are currently 7-1 overall and 3-0 in Red River Athletic Conference Play.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. 

LSU Shreveport Basketball has teamed up with Raising Canes to offer a chance for a lucky fan to win free Canes for a year at halftime of this Friday's men's basketball game against the Centenary Gents as part of the Cross-town Classic at The Dock on the campus of LSUS.

Raffle Tickets will be sold for $1 each and during halftime the winning ticket for a chance to win will be drawn. The winning ticket holder must make a free-throw, three-pointer, and a half-court shot to  win the grand prize, free Raising Cane's for a year!
