Saturday's Baseball Game vs Wiley has Been Canceled

February 18, 2012
SHREVEPORT, La. - The third and final game of the series between the no. 6 LSU Shreveport Pilots and the Wiley Wildcats has been rained out. The game was originally schedule for a 1:00 start but with the forecast the game was moved to 6:00 but it has now been canceled. The game will not be made up.

LSUS (8-0, 2-0 RRAC) will head to Victoria, Texas, for a Monday double header with the first game set to begin at 5:00 to take on the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars. The Jags have an overall record of 3-4 and have lost three of their last four games. UHV split their opening four-game series with UT-Brownsville to start the season and lost two out of three in their most recent series to Texas A&M Kingsville.

The Pilots will look to send a pair of right-handers to the mound on Monday in Drew Middleton (0-0, 0.00) and Logan Norris (2-0, 3.00). This will be Middleton's first start of the season while Norris will be making his third start of the year. Norris has been under the weather and if he is not able to go then the Pilots will turn to the sophomore right-hander, Jonathan Burnett, who was scheduled to pitch the today against Wiley before the rain canceled those plans.

The next game at Pilot Field will be on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 6:00 for a single nine-inning game against the Louisiana Wildcats.
