Rams Outlast Pilots in Overtime

SHREVEPORT, La. - The no. 10 Texas Wesleyan Rams used 14 points in the triple-overtime period to ease past the no. 6 LSU Shreveport Pilots on Saturday night at The Dock.
LSUS (3-5, 1-2 RRAC) shot just 25% after halftime and finished at 32% for the game while TWU (6-1, 3-0 RRAC) picked up their first road win of the year after shooting 33% from the field.
The Pilots were able to slow down the long range shooting Rams who coming into the game was in the top two in the nation in Three-Point FG % overall and per game to just six total for the game. TWU only shot 22% from downtown but the Pilots were no better at 8% only making two in 24 attempts.
The Ram's Eric Frederick led all scorers with an impressive double-double performance with 30 point and 20 rebounds while Oscar Griffin had 20 points off the bench. Brian Talley was the final Ram in double-digits with 17 points.
Jake Greene joined the LSUS scorers with 33 seconds to play in the first overtime as he tied the game with a three-pointer, until then all LSUS' points had been scored by only three players. Greg Shyne led the Pilots on the scoreboard with 28 points while Derrick Parker collected his sixth double-double of the season with 24 points and 17 rebounds, 14 of which were defensive rebounds. Isiah Bazile tossed in 16 points while Greene finished with five points.
The next game for the Pilots will be on Monday night at The Dock against the Bacone Warriors at 7:30 p.m.
