Pilots Win Third Straight GCAC Tournament Championship

Mobile, Ala. - The LSUS Pilots baseball team picked up their third consecutive GCAC Tournament championship on Saturday, as a result of today's games being washed out by the weather in Mobile.
LSUS entered Saturday needing just one victory to secure the title for the third year in-a-row; however, the Pilots finished the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record and as the only team without a loss in the tournament, claiming the 2008 GCAC Tournament title.
LSUS defeated Spring Hill on Wednesday night, 8-6, and followed up that win with another impressive victory over William Carey, 9-1, in second round action. The Pilots then ousted the tournament's number-one seed on Friday night, defeating the University of Mobile 18-11.
The 2008 GCAC Tournament champions will enter next week's regional in Cleveland, Tenn., as the No. 4 seed. The Pilots will face Auburn University at Montgomery in Tuesday's first-round action.
