Pilots Win Sixth in a Row

November 24, 2007

Shreveport, La.-  The LSUS Pilots men's basketball team picked up another victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating NCAA Division 3 UT-Tyler 77-65.

The explosive LSUS offense (94.6 PPG) was held in check for the entire first half, scoring just 25 points in the first 20 minutes of the game.  Senior Travis Cash was the lone bright spot in the first half for the Pilots with 8 points and 2 assists.

In the second half, the Pilots offense got back on track courtesy of seniors Jamon Morris, Josh Porter and J'Quincy Jones.

Morris scored 17 of his 18 points in the second half on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, while Porter and Jones poured in 11 and 8 second-half points respectively.

The Pilots pumped in 52 second-half points en route to a 77-65 victory.

Porter led all scorers with 19 points, and Jamon Morris collected his fourth double-double on the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Cash (12) and Jones (10) both also finished in double-figure scoring.

LSUS moves to 6-0 with the win, and will now face a tough Texas College team on Wednesday night at "The Dock."  The Pilots needed a 25-foot 3-point shot by Josh Porter to defeat Texas College 100-97 earlier this season.
