Pilots Take Down Langston at The Dock

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots won their second game in a row on Wednesday night at The Dock by a final score of 74-67 over the Langston Lions. LSUS had four scorers reach double figures with Isiah Bazile leading the way with 18 points.LSUS (5-5, 3-2 RRAC) led at the half by two, 30-28, despite shooting just 29% from the field. The lead changed hands seven different times in the back and forth contest with Langston (2-8, 2-3 RRAC) leading by as much as eight at one point while the Pilots' largest lead of the night was nine.
LU's Nate Barfield, who led all scorers with 20 points, missed a chance to tie the game making only the front end of a pair from the line to bring the visitors within one, 32-31, with two minutes to play in the game. On their next possession LSUS' Bazile grabbed the rebound and took it the length of the floor for the bucket and the foul. He converted the free-throw to give the Pilots a four-point lead with 1:50 to play and the Pilots controlled the game the rest of the way.
Bazile made 10 free-throws including four of six from the field to lead the Pilots to their fifth win of the season as he claimed his third double-double of the season with 12 rebounds. Joining Bazile in double-digits for the Pilots were Derrick Parker (16), Greg Shyne (13), and Mark Politte (11). Parker finished the game with five blocks while Bazile rejected three. Politte led the team with three assists.
The charity stripe was a busy place at The Dock on Wednesday night as LU was 18 of 27 while the Pilots made 25 of 49.
The next game for the Pilots will be at The Dock on Thursday, January 5th, at 7:30 p.m. against the Southwest Mustangs.
