Pilots sweep double-header versus Paul Quinn

Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Pilots (6-2) traveled to Dallas, TX Wednesday to take on the Paul Quinn University Tigers (2-8) in double-header action. In game one, the Tigers jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but the Pilots offense was too much as they went on to win by a final score of 13-6. Game two was a different story as the Tigers out hit the Pilots, but the Pilots capitalized on 8 walks issued by the Tigers pitching staff by stealing 7 bases and scoring 6 runs on just 3 hits to take game two by a final of 6-1.
Steffan Primeaux led the Pilots offense going 3-4 with 4 runs scored, 2 walks, and 2 hit by pitches in the two games combined. Dustin Bissonnette pitched in with a 3-7 performance at the plate which included a team high 4 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Marcus Calhoun (1-0), a junior transfer from Paul Quinn University picked up the win in game one. Calhoun pitched 4.0 innings, allowing 4 runs (2 earned), 6 hits, walked 4, and collected 3 strikeouts.
Adam Cox took the mound for the Pilots in game two and threw 5 complete innings allowing only 1 run, 3 hits, and collecting 2 strikeouts on way to his first career college win.
The Pilots will return to action Friday night at Pilot Field when they will play host to the Belhaven College Blazers in their Gulf Coast Athletic Conference opener. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm.
