Pilots Stop Two-Game Skid With 85-73 Victory

Shreveport, La. - No. 20 LSUS had lost two consecutive GCAC games for the first time since January 2007 entering tonight's contest versus the Dillard Blue Devils, but the Pilots picked up an 85-73 victory to remain in tie for first place in the GCAC.
Senior Chris Gatlin scored a game and career-high 26 points, while adding a game-high 11 rebounds in the win. Gatlin finished the night 10-for-19 from the field and 3-for-7 from the three-point line.
The Pilots outrebounded the Blue Devils 42-29, including 14 offensive rebounds which they converted into 20 points.
LSUS shot 56% in the second half, as they outscored Dillard 47-36 over the final 20 minutes. The Pilots led by as many as 18 points late in the second half and eventually cruised to a 12-point win.
Dillard's David Manning scored a game-high 30 points.
Tyrone Hamilton finished with 18 points for LSUS, while freshman Derrick Parker scored 9 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
LSUS (13-7, 6-2) returns to action on Saturday night versus Mobile. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at The Dock.
