Pilots Split Saturday's Doubleheader Versus Spring Hill

Shreveport, La. - The LSUS Pilots split Saturday's doubleheader versus Spring Hill College after winning game one, 11-10, and falling in game two, 6-1.
In the first game, LSUS jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after three innings; however, the Badgers responded with a seven-run fourth to take a one-run lead.
LSUS tied the game at seven with a single run in the fifth, but a two-run top of the sixth for Spring Hill put them back in front of the Pilots. The Pilots then responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, taking a one-run lead with one inning left.
However, Spring Hill tied the game at 10 in the top of the seventh, but the Pilots ended the contest with game-winning run in the bottom half of the inning for an 11-10 victory.
Quenton Shamsabady led the Pilots with a three-hit performance, including two doubles and two RBIs. Andrew Brouillette and Jeffrey Garidel each had a pair of hits and a homerun in the contest, while Brandon Bravata and Josh Todd each finished with multiple hits in the win.
After pounding out 12 hits in game one, the Pilot bats were somewhat silenced in game two as Spring Hill starter Matt Hasley scattered just four hits over eight innings, while striking out eight batters.
LSUS finished the game with just five hits, and also committed four errors in the field in game two's 6-1 defeat.
