Pilots offense erupts in 23-2 win over Warriors

Shreveport, LA—The LSUS Pilots (2-0) traveled to Pineville, LA Thursday afternoon to take on the Bacone College Warriors (1-3) in a matinee at the Mid State Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Classic. The Pilots erupted for 23 runs which was highlighted by a 15 run second inning in a 23-2 route over the Warriors.
Steffan Primeaux collected 3 hits and 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Primeaux tripled in the 2nd inning, and followed with homeruns in the 3rd and 5th innings. Pilot freshman Patrick Thompson was 2-2 in his Pilot debut which included a 3rd inning homerun and 3 RBI. Dustin Bissonnette picked up 3 hits, 3 runs, and 4 RBI and teammate Colin Moro was 2-4 with 3 runs scored.
Kevin Jewell (1-0) tossed 2 scoreless innings for his first win of the season. The Pilots are now 2-0 on the season and will be in action again Saturday at 1:00pm versus LouisianaCollege, and again at 4:00pm versus CentralBaptistUniversity. Both games will be played in Pineville, LA.
LSUS will return home Sunday for double header action versus the MissouriValley Vikings with game one scheduled for 12:00pm.
