Pilots Off to Best Start in School History

New Orleans, La.-The LSUS Pilots men's basketball team notched their 13th consecutive victory to begin the season, defeating Southern University-New Orleans 93-84 on Saturday night.

The 13th straight victory to begin the season was a milestone win for the Pilots, as they surpassed the 12-0 mark set by the 2005-06 team.

LSUS (13-0, 2-0) placed four starters in double figures with Jamon Morris leading the way with 25 points.  Josh Porter finished with 18 points, while Travis Cash and J'Quincy Jones scored 14 and 10 points respectively.

The Pilots jumped out to a 51-40 lead at the half, and led by as many as 20 points late in the second half.

LSUS, the number one rebounding team in the nation, outrebounded the Knights 44-37 in the contest.  Jones finished with a game-high 9 rebounds, while Morris finished with 8 boards.

The Pilots with return to action on Thursday night with a home game versus Belhaven at "The Dock."  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
