Pilots host Blue Devils to begin second half of GCAC regular season

Series: The LSUS Pilots are 5-2 lifetime against the Dillard University Blue Devils. LSUS defeated the Blue Devils 80-65 in New Orleansafter losing their 2007 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference home opener to Spring Hill College. The Pilots are 2-0 lifetime at The Dock against the Blue Devils. The two teams have met in the GCAC Tournament on two different occassions; LSUS defeated DU 89-78 in 2004; DU defeated LSUS 87-82 in overtime in 2005.

Most Recently: The Pilots (14-5) are coming off a disappointing 77-64 loss at the hands of the Southern University of New Orleans Knights last Saturday in New Orleans. LSUS has dropped out of the current NAIA Top 25 polls for the first time in two years. All is not lost for the Pilots however as they sit in 26th spot, and are just one game out of first place in the GCAC.

The Blue Devils are coming off a 73-65 home loss at the hands of the William Carey College Crusaders Monday night. DU

Streaks: The Pilots are 1-2 without point guard Freddy Hughes. Jamon Morris has collected double-doubles in consecutive contests. Morris has seven double-doubles in nine GCAC contests; leads the GCAC with 10 overall. The Pilots have not scored more than 78 points in their last four contests; 1-3 during that stretch. LSUS has outrebounded their opponent in three consecutive contests.

DU enters The Dock looking to snap a season high five game losing streak. The Blue Devils are ranked 10th in scoring defense in the GCAC allowing 82.0 points per game; LSUS is first in scoring offense in the GCAC averaging 84.4 points per game.
