Pilots Fall to Spring Hill for Second Loss of the Season
February 23, 2008
Shreveport, La. The Spring Hill Badgers knocked off the No. 2 LSUS Pilots at The Dock on Saturday afternoon, upsetting the Pilots 100-80.
Spring Hill used a balanced offensive attack, including an outstanding individual performance by point guard Jeremy Price to hand the Pilots just their second loss in 27 games.
Price pumped in a game-high 34 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, while also going a perfect 14-for-14 from the free-throw line. The Badgers connected on 31-of-33 attempts from the charity stripe in the contest.
Noah Woolridge finished the game with 26 points, and Marcus Coleman added 17 points for the Badgers in the victory. Woolridge and Coleman each made four three-point baskets in the game.
After shooting 55% from the field in the first half, the Pilots were limited to just 12 made field goals in the second half on 14-of-42 (29%) shooting, including shooting a miserable 2-for-14 from behind the three-point line in the final 20 minutes.
Josh Porter led the Pilots with 25 points. Starters Jamon Morris (16 points), Travis Cash (11 points) and J’Quincy Jones (11 points) also finished in double figures for the Pilots.
LSUS (25-2, 14-2) holds a one-game lead over Mobile in the GCAC standings with two games left to play. The Pilots will travel to Jackson, Miss., to face the Tougaloo Bulldogs on Thursday night.
