Pilots fall in extra innings to Wolfpack

LSUS (34-20)defeated the Loyola University Wolfpack (19-21) 8-1 Saturday afternoon at the Alario Center in New Orleans. Gene Stevens (6-4) collected his 6th win and 6th complete game of the season in game one of the double header. Stevens collected a season high 9 strike outs. Jeremie Chabot led the Pilots offense with a 2-4 effort which included a second inning grand slam.
Despite an early 2-0 lead in game 2, the Pilots fell to the Wolfpack 4-3 in extra innings. The Pilots could not capitalize on a bases loaded no out situation in the top of the 7th inning which allowed the Wolfpack to mount an 8th inning rally to score the game winning run off reliever Cody Willis (0-2).
Game 3 was scheduled to be played Sunday afternoon but was called off due to rain and will not be rescheduled. The Pilots won the season series versus the Wolfpack 3 games to 2.
