Pilots Drop Third Straight

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Auburn University at Montgomery's Kip Small had a game-high 23 points to lead AUM to a 73-70 win Saturday night over LSUS at the Jimmy Faulkner Classic hosted by Faulkner University.
AUM shot the ball well for the second consecutive night in the classic as they finished the game shooting over 47 percent from the field, and that included knocking down 40 percent of their three point attempts.
LSUS went into the locker room trailing 38-34, but rallied to take a 56-51 midway through the second half. AUM then went on on huge run, scoring 13 consecutive points to go up 64-56. The Pilots did make a run to get back in the game, but in the end the Senators prevailed with the three point win.
Tyrone Hamilton scored 20 points to lead LSUS and was joined in double digits by Jared Stevenson who had 12, Chris Gatlin had 11 and John Anthony Anglin chipped in with 10.
The Senators were spread out in scoring as all 10 players that entered the game scored. Quadavious Brown joined Small in double digits finishing the game with 14 points.
AUM outrebounded LSUS 35-25 with Robert Johnson leading the way with 10. Derrick Parker also had 10 rebounds for the Pilots.
LSUS (1-3) will next face Wiley College on Wednesday night in Marshall.
