Pilots drop first RRAC game

October 04, 2012

HOBBS, N.M. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots men's soccer team suffered their first loss in Red River Athletic Conference play on Thursday afternoon at the University of the Southwest by a final score of 5-2.

USW (4-5-1, 3-2 RRAC) jumped on the Pilots in the first half for a 3-0 halftime advantage.

LSUS (7-3-1, 3-1-1 RRAC) got on the board six minutes into the second half on a Rodrigo Pontes penalty kick for a 3-1 deficit. The Mustangs though battled back to score the next two goals of the game to put it away before the Pilots added an Alex Curry goal during the 87th minute but it was too little to late.

The Pilots will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for a 5:30 p.m. kick-off on Saturday against Texas Wesleyan University.
