Pilots Drop First Conference Game

New Orleans, La. - No. 19 LSUS lost for the first time in seven games, as the home team SUNO Knights upset the Pilots 88-80 on Saturday at The Castle.
Despite shooting 50% from the field for the game, LSUS turned the ball over 17 times and made just 18-of-31 (58%) free-throws in the loss.
SUNO outscored the Pilots 49-42 in the final 20 minutes and finished the game shooting 44% from the field and 41% from the three-point line. SUNO held the Pilots to just 1-of-10 from the three-point line in the second half to aid in the victory.
Chris Gatlin led the Pilots with 22 points, while Mike Pilgrim added a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Derrick Parker contributed 12 points in the defeat.
LSUS (12-6, 5-1) remains in first place in the GCAC standings with a Loyola loss on Saturday, and the Pilots will take on Loyola on Monday night at The Den in New Orleans.
