Pilots draw former GCAC opponent Xavier in first round

SHREVEPORT, La. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the bracket for the 75th Annual Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship. The single-elimination tournament takes place from March 14 - 20 in Kansas City, Mo., and historic Municipal Auditorium. The event tips off for the Pilots at 9 a.m. CST on Thursday, March 15, as No. 12 LSU Shreveport faces Xavier (La.).
LSUS (25-7) is one of the hottest teams in the country having won 22 of their last 24 games and recently claimed their seventh consecutive conference tournament title. The Pilots make their eighth consecutive trip to the big dance having posted a 3-7 record.
Xavier (23-8) will appear for the 14th time in Kansas City as they have posted a 4-12 overall record.
