Pilots Dominate Wildcats

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSUS Pilots picked up a 91-69 win over the Wiley Wildcats behind career performances from seniors Chris Gatlin, Clarke Jackson and Tyrone Hamilton.
Gatlin finished the night with a career-high 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, while Jackson scored a career-high 21 points in his season debut at The Dock. Hamilton aided in Gatlin and Jackson's career-high scoring night by dishing out a career-high 14 assists, which also tied the LSUS school record.
The Pilots used a 50% shooting performance in the first half and a smothering defensive effort to jump out to a 45-24 lead at the break. LSUS held the Wildcats to just 9-for-30 in the first 20 minutes, using their pressure defense to force contested shots and several turnovers.
LSUS continued their hot shooting in the second half, going 16-for-26 from the field to finish the game shooting over 55%. Wiley shot the ball much better in the second half, but could not find their range from the three-point line, making just one attempt in ten tries to finish the game just 4-for-18 (22%).
The Pilots move to 4-4 with the win and will take on Texas College on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 P.M at The Dock.
