Pilots defeat Our Lady of the Lake

October 20, 2012

SHREVEPORT, La. - If the seniors of LSU Shreveport do not get another opportunity to play another game at The Swamp they can know that they won their last game at home with a 1-0 today over the Our Lady of the Lake Saints in Red River Athletic Conference play.

LSUS (11-5-1, 6-3-1 RRAC) netted the only goal of the contest during the 19th minute of the game. The Pilots controlled possession of the ball down the sideline; Jose Cordova passed to Rodrigo Pontes and then Pontes played a one-touch pass back to Cordova who returned the same pass back to Pontes who then sent a pass to the oncoming Alan Arroyo for the game winning score.

OLLU (9-6-1, 8-2 RRAC) outshot the Pilots 14-9 but they only managed seven shots on goal in which five were saved by the LSUS keeper and two were saved by LSUS defenders Che Walcott and Nate Gurinsky.

The Pilots have one final regular season game remaining as they will travel to Northwood next Saturday, October 27th, at 1 p. m.
