The Pilots responded with a quick 8-0 run of their own over the next 2 minutes, including three consecutive baskets by Porter, to seal the victory.
Poter finished the contest with a team-high 19 points.
Senior Jamon Morris, third in the country last season in double-doubles, added 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to record his second double-double this season.
