Pilots Clinch No. 2 Seed With Win on Senior Night

Shreveport, La. - The LSUS Pilots clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GCAC Tournament with a convincing 92-64 win over SUNO on Senior Night at The Dock.
And in the final regular season home game for four Pilot seniors, it was the trio of seniors Chris Gatlin, Tyrone Hamilton and Clarke Jackson leading the way for LSUS. The three players combined to score 40 points with Gatlin pouring in a game-high 23 points. Jackson added 14 points, while Hamilton finished the night with 13.
LSUS shot 54% from the field in the contest and made 40% of their three-point attempts, while holding SUNO to just 31% from the field and 23% from behind the arc.
LSUS used their defense to ignite them to a big first half lead, as the Pilots took command of the game early and jumped out to a 41-26 lead at the break.
Freshman Derrick Parker reminded fans that the cupboard will not be bare with the exit of this year's senior class, as he scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting.
Point guard Jared Stevenson ended the night with a game-high 9 assists.
The Pilots (19-11) will host a first round GCAC Tournament game on Thursday night at The Dock.
