Pilots back in familiar territory

January 29, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The LSU Shreveport men's basketball team finally get some recognition in the most recent release of the NAIA Division I Coaches' Top 25 Poll as they jump two spots from last week up to no. 24 this week after an undefeated run last week in three games.

The Pilots will have all week to prepare for their next Red River Athletic Conference game as they face Wiley College this Saturday in Marshall, Texas, carrying a four-game winning streak as the Pilots try to avenge their two-point loss (99-97) to Wiley earlier this season at The Dock.

Since that loss the Pilots are 8-1 while the Wildcats have spiraled downward over the eight game stretch at 3-5 since their big win over the Pilots.

LSUS is still in the conference title hunt as they are currently just two games back of the current leader, which they beat earlier this year, SAGU and only one game back of second-place Our Lady of the Lake, who the Pilots also beat earlier in the year.

The no. 14 SAGU Lions will have to come to The Dock on the last game of the regular season on Feb. 25 while the Pilots will have to pay OLLU a visit in San Antonio on Feb. 11.
