OLLU too much for Lady Pilots
January 07, 2013
SHREVEPORT, La. - The no. 17 LSU Shreveport Lady Pilots struggled tremendously in the second half as the no. 19 Our Lady of the Lake Saints crushed the Lady Pilots at The Dock 82-52 on Monday night in Red River Athletic Conference play.
LSUS (10-3, 5-2 RRAC) struggled most of the game offensively committing a total of 20 turnovers helping Our Lady of the Lake to net 28 points off of those miscues. The Lady Pilots made only three field goals in the second half but thanks to some free-throws they managed 13 points in a half that the visitors outscored them 38-13.
Jenna Diakos led the Lady Pilots with 16 while Sharde Henry tossed in 15 points. No Lady Pilots had double figures in rebounding but Diakos, Henry, and Christy Willis all pulled down eight rebounds apiece.
The Lady Pilots finished at 30-percent from the field while OLLU was 49-percent including nine of 24 from beyond the arc.
OLLU (14-1, 7-1 RRAC) had plenty to prove at The Dock as they avenged their Saturday loss to Wiley against the Lady Pilots placing four shooters in double figures while LSUS had only two. Alisha led all scorers with 18 points and had the game's only double-double with 10 rebounds. Nikkia Davis had 15 points for the visitors while Chelsea Solis had a dozen and Nashae Owens 11.
The Lady Pilots will try and rebound on Thursday night at The Dock at 5:30 p.m. as they take on Jarvis Christian.
