Northwestern State Tops LSUS

NATCHITOCHES — Devin White scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Northwestern State to a 85-64 win over LSUS tonight in an exhibition contest for the Pilots.
Trailing by just six points (36-30) at the break, LSUS fell behind quickly to begin the second half and could never recover from a 19-5 Northwestern run that put the Demons ahead 55-35 with 14:37 remaining in the contest.
NSU's William Mosley finished with 16 points and 18 rebounds for the Demons (5-4). Mosley and White each blocked four shots.
Tyrone Hamilton led the Pilots (5-4) with 13 points and seven assists, while true freshman Derrick Parker chipped in with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Gabe Hall also added a career-high 11 points from off the bench in the loss.
Northwestern State scored 31 points off of the Pilots’ 20 turnovers, and also outrebounded LSUS 54-42.
The Pilots struggled to score throughout much of the game, shooting just 33.3 percent from the field (22-for-66) and only 14.3 percent from 3-point range (3-for-21).
LSUS will return to action Monday night versus Paul Quinn College in Dallas.
