No. 21 LSUS Cruises to 68-48 Win

SHREVEPORT, La. – No. 21 LSUS moved to 19-2 and 9-1 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play with a convincing 68-48 win over the visiting Tougaloo College Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Pilots broke open a 9-9 ballgame at the 15:00 mark with a 13-2 run sparked by two Whitney Hollins’ three-point baskets. Tougaloo answered with a quick 5-0 run of their own, but the Lady Pilots would outscore them 13-6 over the final five minutes of the first half.
Leading 35-22 at the break, the Lady Pilots finished the Lady Bulldogs off with a 13-2 run to begin the second half. Tougaloo was held to just one made field goal in the first 10:23 of the second half, as the Lady Pilots cruised to an easy victory.
Senior post players Quan Joseph and Janai Sells paced the Lady Pilots with 13 points apiece, while Hollins and Ricosha Kindells also finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Tougaloo’s Kim Kern led all scorers with 19.
LSUS (19-2, 9-1) is in sole possession of first place in the GCAC, and they will face Xavier University of New Orleans on Saturday night at The Barn in New Orleans.
