Morris Named LSWA Player of the Week

BATON ROUGE – LSU-Shreveport’s Jamon Morris was named the Men’s Player of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, it was announced today.
Morris, a senior forward for the Pilots, helped lead LSUS to road wins over No. 15 Wiley College and Jarvis Christian College, while posting his sixth and seventh double-double on the season. Morris currently leads the NAIA in double-doubles. On Saturday, Morris and the Pilots knocked off their third NCAA Division 1 opponent this season, defeating Northwestern State, 79-73. Morris collected his third double-double on the week with 14 points and 13 rebounds versus the Demons.
In other men’s basketball news, the Pilots (9-0) moved up to the #3 spot in the Victory Sports Network Top 25 Poll this week, while remaining at #5 in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll.
