Moro Signs With Calgary Vipers
May 27, 2008
Shreveport, La. - Former LSUS baseball star Colin Moro has signed with the Calgary Vipers of the Golden Baseball League for the 2008 season.
Moro was one of five draft picks by the club in March, and made the Vipers' 2008 opening day roster after an impressive training camp.
The Golden Baseball League is a professional independent baseball league with teams in the western United States and Canada. The league is not affiliated with either Major or Minor League baseball, but has featured several players with MLB experience including Rickey Henderson and Jose Canseco.
Moro finished his career at LSUS in 2007, while batting .321 with 3 home runs and 29 RBIs that season. Moro spent last summer as a member of the Okotoks Dawgs of the Western Major Baseball League, and he also played in the Arizona Winter League with the Canada Miners before joining the Vipers.
