December 01, 2012
SHREVEPORT, La. - The NAIA's leading scorer Rodney Milum poured in 39 points to lead the LSU Shreveport Pilots past the Langston Lions 92-79 on Saturday afternoon at The Dock in Red River Athletic Conference play.
Milum, who made his first shot of the game from downtown nearly three minutes into the contest, drained seven from beyond the arc on Saturday including a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. Isaac Reid claimed his second double-double of the season despite spending most of the game in foul trouble and finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Aaron Jones was the third and final Pilot finishing in double figures with 10 points.
LSUS (4-2, 1-1 RRAC) blazed the newly looking nets on the rims at The Dock making 51-percent while Langston struggled at 31-percent. Both teams shot few free-throws in the first half and the Pilots came away 17 of 20 in the second half while the visitors only made 14 of 20.
Langston (4-4, 1-1 RRAC) struggled against the tough Pilots defense as LSUS forced a dozen turnovers and outscored Langston off turnovers 18-13.
The next game for the Pilots will be on Monday at The Dock against RRAC-opponent Bacone College at 7:30 p.m.
