December 13, 2012
WAXAHACHIE, Tex. - Rodney Milum led the Pilots to their fourth consecutive win on Thursday night tossing in 35 points leading the LSU Shreveport Pilots to an impressive 92-64 win over the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lions at the Shafer Center in Red River Athletic Conference play.
Milum only made four from beyond the arc but was able to boost his point total from the free-throw line converting on 13 of 16 from the charity stripe. The Pilots (7-2, 3-1 RRAC) overall shot the ball well making 48-percent while holding the Lions to 33-percent.
Isaac Reid hit double figures again putting a dozen points on the board for the visitors while Mark Politte scored 11 points marking the sixth time this season that both have scored double digits. The Pilots also won the rebounding battle 36-28 with three players tied with eight apiece; Reid, Politte, and Jordan.
SAGU (9-3, 4-2 RRAC) let the 13-point deficit at the half bleed to a blowout win for the Pilots as the home squad shot just 33-percent. James Ford led the Lions with 16 points while Nathaniel Duce Ward had 12 and Dominique Rambo 10.
Tonight's impressive win over a talented SAGU squad will give the Pilots some momentum heading into Saturday's big showdown with Wiley College at The Dock at 4 p.m. The Wildcats have received votes in the last two Top 25 polls and supported the same 3-1 RRAC that the Pilots did heading into tonight's contests.
