Midnight Madness Set For Friday Night at "The Dock"

The Student Activities Board at LSUS will host Midnight Madness 2007: “Hoop ‘n it Up” in the LSUS Health and Physical Education Gym at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2007. The event will showcase the return of LSUS Pilots basketball senior and NAIA Pre-Season All-American, Josh Porter, as well as reveal the new LSUS Mascot and its name. The event is open to the Shreveport-Bossier communities. Admission is one canned food at the door.Midnight Madness 2007 will feature scrimmage games by both the LSUS Pilots and Lady Pilots basketball teams, where they will play for the first time this season. There will be give-away prizes, games and fun for everyone. There will also be an opportunity to meet the newest member of the LSUS community, the LSUS Pilots mascot.
The Sporting News 2007-2008 College Basketball Preview has selected the LSUS Pilots Basketball team as the 10th ranked team in the NAIA and seniors Josh Porter and Jamon Morris as NAIA Preseason All-Americans. Porter has now garnered back-to-back preseason All-America honors from the publication, being named a Preseason NAIA 1st Team All-American for the second consecutive year. Porter suffered a season-ending injury last year, but has received a medical hardship from the NAIA allowing him an additional year of eligibility.
The LSUS Pilots were picked to finish second and the Lady Pilots were picked fourth in the GCAC preseason basketball polls as voted by the league's coaches.
