Men's Soccer: UT-Brownsville blasts Pilots

SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Texas at Brownsville ruled the Swamp on Thursday afternoon crushing the LSU Shreveport Pilots 7-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
The one bright spot for the LSUS Pilots (10-5-1, 5-3-1 RRAC) was a goal from Rodrigo Pontes during the 68th minute which trimmed the UTB lead to 4-1 giving the Pilots some hopes at a possible comeback but UTB shattered those hopes with three more goals putting the game away.
UTB (9-3-3, 8-1 RRAC) scored the first four goals of the contest all in the first half of play as Victor Parreiras had three assists in the half. Ricardo Diegues had a paif of goals while Dillon Gaffney and Henry Moody both scored as well. Diegues added two more goals in the second half giving him four goals for the game to help Brownsville pull away.
The Pilots will entertain Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday at The Swamp at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
