    Men's Basketball to Host First Ever Prospect Camp

    SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Men's Basketball team will conduct its first-ever Prospect Camp on Friday, August 3 at "The Dock" on the LSUS campus. The camp will begin at 3:00 p.m. with registration starting at 2:30 p.m. The event will allow all campers to showcase their abilities through a college-style workout, while also giving them to opportunity to be evaluated by the men's basketball coaching staff during live-scrimmage action. The camp is open to all current high school juniors and seniors. College students with two or more years of eligibility remaining may also attend.

    Blankenship named LSUS Men's Basketball Head Coach

    SHREVEPORT, La. - Kyle Blankenship has been named the Head Coach to lead the LSU Shreveport Pilots men's basketball team. He returns to LSUS as a coach after a one year stint at Lamar State College and the previous two seasons at Rogers State University. He was the first assistant coach at both schools.

    LSUS claims RRAC Sportsmanship Award

    WACO, Texas - Conference Athletic Directors selected LSU Shreveport as the overall winner of the 2011-12 Red River Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award. LSU Shreveport's coaches, players and administration exhibited the best demeanor and conduct during the most recent academic year.

    McDowell receives Champions of Character Award at the NAIA National Convention

    Newport Beach, Calif. - The national winner of NAIA's Champions of Character Coach Award is announced every year in the last week of April. The winner is then recognized at the NAIA National Convention the following year. LSU Shreveport's Men's Basketball Head Coach Chad McDowell was the recipient of the award for the 2010 - 2011 season and was recognized Sunday night at the NAIA Awards Banquet. McDowell participated in the NAIA Convention as well sitting on a Champions of Character Panel to discuss some proven ways to incorporate the Champions of Character Program into a sports team.

    Parker, Shyne named to LSWA All-LA Teams

    HAMMOND, La. - Derrick Parker was selected to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team after a great senior season for the Pilots. Parker averaged 19.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Greg Shyne was named as a honorable mention after leading the Pilots with 20.6 points per game.
