    McDowell receives Champions of Character Award at the NAIA National Convention

    Newport Beach, Calif. - The national winner of NAIA's Champions of Character Coach Award is announced every year in the last week of April. The winner is then recognized at the NAIA National Convention the following year. LSU Shreveport's Men's Basketball Head Coach Chad McDowell was the recipient of the award for the 2010 - 2011 season and was recognized Sunday night at the NAIA Awards Banquet. McDowell participated in the NAIA Convention as well sitting on a Champions of Character Panel to discuss some proven ways to incorporate the Champions of Character Program into a sports team.

    Parker, Shyne named to LSWA All-LA Teams

    HAMMOND, La. - Derrick Parker was selected to the LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team after a great senior season for the Pilots. Parker averaged 19.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Greg Shyne was named as a honorable mention after leading the Pilots with 20.6 points per game.

    LSUS Men's Basketball in Top 10 of NAIA Final Rating

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Postseason Top 25 Poll was released yesterday and the Pilots finished as the #7 ranked team in the country. The Postseason poll takes into consideration the overall season including the performances at the National Tournament.

    Parker, Shyne recognized as NAIA All-Americans

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2011 - 12 Division I Men's Basketball All-America Teams on Wednesday. The selections are made by the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams. LSU Shreveport's Derrick Parker was selected to the 2nd Team while Greg Shyne was honored as an honorable mention.

    Pilots magical season comes to an end with loss to Concordia

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The threes came pouring down on No. 12-seeded LSU Shreveport in the first half on Saturday as fourth-seeded Concordia (Calif.) won going away, 84-65, in the quarterfinals of the 75th Anniversary Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship. The Eagles will make their first Fab Four appearance since 2007 and fourth all-time.
